Our Approach
Two Programs, One Mission
F3 exists to serve those who have served — and that mission looks different depending on where you are in your journey.
Full wraparound support
For active-duty service members preparing to transition, F3 runs a free SkillBridge program: full wraparound support, including VA benefits navigation, resume coaching, and job placement, because that’s what someone still inside the gate needs to land safely on the other side.
A fast, focused, honest path
F3 Vets is built for the other side of that gate — veterans, military spouses, and eligible military-connected family members who are already working, already in school, and already receiving their benefits. You don’t need the wraparound. You need a fast, focused, honest path to a credential that moves your career forward. That’s what this program is.
Same mission. Same standard. A different program, built for where you are right now.
Who This Is For
Who F3 Vets Is Designed For
F3 Vets was built for the military-connected community — the people who served, and the people who served alongside them at home.
Veterans
Service members who have separated or retired from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, from any career field.
Military spouses
Spouses of veterans and spouses of active-duty service members who are ready to build technical skills of their own.
Eligible adult family members of veterans and active-duty service members
Confirmed during the application process.
Final eligibility requirements and acceptable military relationships will be confirmed during the application process. Not every relative of a service member will qualify.
The Opportunity
Your Experience Matters. The Right Credential Can Help Others Recognize It.
Many people in the military-connected community already work with security every day — protecting information, following procedures, and making careful decisions under pressure. A recognized credential gives you a common way to describe that work to people outside your field.
You already have a foundation
Military, professional, and academic experience can be a strong starting point for cybersecurity work.
Employers look for shared signals
Hiring teams often look for widely recognized technical credentials alongside experience and education.
Security+ is a common starting point
CompTIA Security+ is commonly viewed as a foundational cybersecurity certification across the industry.
Preparation should go beyond memorizing
Understanding why a control exists lasts longer than remembering the answer to one practice question.

Program Design
Why Three Weeks Instead of Three Days?
Cybersecurity concepts take more than a quick pass through test questions. The F3 Vets format gives you time to learn during live sessions, work independently between classes, come back with questions, and reinforce the material across three weeks.
Built for speed
Condensed formats move quickly through a large amount of material. They can work well for someone who is already close to exam-ready and mainly needs a refresher before test day.
- Fast coverage of a wide range of topics
- Little time between sessions
- Most practice happens after the course ends
- Often best for learners with recent, related experience
Built for understanding
We spread the course across three weeks so there is room to learn a concept, try it, notice what is still unclear, and bring that question back to a live session.
- Time to understand concepts, not just recognize them
- Time to ask questions during live instruction
- Time to practice what was covered
- Guided independent work between sessions
- Time to find and close knowledge gaps
- Review and reinforcement built into the schedule
- Preparation aimed at practical application, not only test-day recall
Both approaches have a place. F3 Vets chose three weeks because the people we serve are usually balancing work, family and study at the same time. Three weeks is a structure, not a promise — how much you get out of it still depends on your background and the time you put in.
The Learning Experience
Designed Around the Way Working Adults Learn
Each week builds on the one before it. You learn in a live session, put it to work on your own, then come back and go deeper.
Establish the foundation
- Get oriented to the course and the exam objectives
- Review essential terminology
- Identify your existing strengths and knowledge gaps
Build deeper understanding
- Work through core concepts in more depth
- Apply what you learn through guided exercises
- Reinforce the material between sessions
Connect and reinforce
- Connect concepts across the full course
- Review key knowledge areas
- Build an ongoing study and exam-readiness plan
How each week runs. There are three live, two-hour sessions a week. Before each one, you prepare in the course portal with that session’s lecture videos, study guide and module quizzes. In weeks one and two, each live session reviews the modules you prepared, with Q&A and a study activity, and a hands-on exercise follows every four modules. Week three is instructor-led simulation and practice-question review, backed by practice tests in the portal. One or two individual study sessions are also available on request.

Why F3 Vets
Why Choose F3 Vets?
Built for this community, not adapted for it.
F3 Vets was designed from the ground up for veterans, military spouses, and eligible military-connected family members — not a general bootcamp with a discount attached. Every instructor at F3, including Security+ lead instructor Yevette Julien-West, an Army veteran, is a member of this community. We build around a drill weekend, a PCS move, a deployment gap, because we live it too.
We compete on outcome, not access.
Free, open-enrollment programs are built to get people in the door. We’re built to get people exam-ready. When your next career move is on the line, that difference matters more than the sticker price.
A schedule that respects the life you’re already living.
Evening sessions and guided independent study, built for people who are already working, already in school, already moving forward — not starting from zero.
Precision over padding.
We tell you exactly what this course is: focused Security+ preparation, mapped to the exam objectives, with real live instruction — not vague promises about career coaching we don’t have time to deliver in three weeks.
A growing catalog, one honest course at a time.
Security+ is our first course. Every course we add — including future Linux and data-analysis offerings — will meet the same bar and be priced and taught with the same standard before it’s open for enrollment.
Tuition
Why Isn’t F3 Vets Free?
Open-enrollment bootcamps are built to maximize access. F3 Vets is built to maximize outcome.
A free, open-enrollment bootcamp has to fill seats to justify its funding — the incentive is throughput. Tuition lets us do the opposite: smaller cohorts, live instruction from veteran instructors, and a program that has to earn your investment every session, not just occupy your time.
Your tuition also does more than pay for this course. It helps fund F3’s free SkillBridge training for active-duty service members still transitioning out of the military. When you enroll in F3 Vets, you’re not just investing in your own outcome — you’re helping fund the next one.
Course participation does not guarantee certification, exam passage, employment, promotion, or a particular salary outcome.

Three weeks. That includes live evening sessions plus guided independent work between classes. Live instruction totals 18 hours: nine two-hour sessions.
Because learning a concept and recognizing a concept are two different things. Spreading the course over three weeks gives you time to hear the material, work with it on your own, notice what is still unclear, and bring questions back to a live session. It also fits better around a job and a family than a single intensive block would.
Tuition for the three-week Security+ preparation course is $2,500 per course, and includes the CompTIA Security+ exam voucher and a retake voucher. No payment is collected through this page. See the refund policy for cancellation and refund terms.
None. There are no course prerequisites. You only need to be an eligible veteran, military spouse, or military-connected family member. If you are not sure whether the course is a good fit for your background, say so in the message field of the application and we will follow up.
Yes. Tuition includes the CompTIA Security+ exam voucher and a retake voucher. The exam itself is offered by CompTIA and is scheduled separately from the course.
No. This is a certification preparation course. It is designed to prepare you for the CompTIA Security+ exam, but the certification is awarded by CompTIA, not by F3 Vets, and the exam is scheduled separately. Course participation does not guarantee certification, exam passage, employment, promotion, or a particular salary outcome.
Eligible applicants will complete a military-affiliation verification step before payment. Additional instructions will be provided as part of the enrollment process.
