Terms and Conditions
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Freedom Fighters Fund, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation doing business as F3USA (“F3USA,” “we,” “us” or “our”), located at 1550 The Alameda, Suite 150, San Jose, CA 95126. They govern your use of the F3 Vets pages at f3usa.org/f3vets (the “Site”) and your application to and participation in the F3 Vets CompTIA Security+ preparation course (the “Course”).
By using the Site, submitting an application or enrolling in the Course, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or enroll.
2. The Course
The Course is a three-week, live, instructor-led virtual program that prepares students for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. Current details, including the schedule, start date and tuition, are listed on the F3 Vets program page. Program details are subject to change until enrollment opens.
3. Eligibility and verification
The Course is offered to eligible veterans, military spouses and eligible military-connected family members, as described on the program page. You must be at least 18 years old. Before enrollment and payment, you must complete a military-affiliation verification step. We decide eligibility and may decline any application.
You agree that the information you give us is true, accurate and complete, and that you will keep it up to date.
4. Applications and enrollment
Submitting an application does not guarantee eligibility, admission or a seat in the Course. No payment is collected through the Site. If your eligibility is confirmed, we will send you payment instructions. You are enrolled on the date you pay tuition, and seats are subject to availability.
5. Tuition and payment
Tuition is $2,500 per course and includes one CompTIA Security+ exam voucher and one retake voucher. There are no other required fees. We do not currently offer payment plans or financial assistance, and F3 Vets does not participate in federal or state student financial aid programs. You agree to pay using a method we accept and to give us accurate payment information.
6. Cancellations, withdrawals and refunds
Your right to cancel, how to withdraw, and how refunds are calculated are set out in our Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms. If these Terms and the Refund Policy conflict, the Refund Policy controls.
7. Schedule changes and Course cancellation
We may reschedule a session, change the platform used to deliver the Course, or substitute an instructor when necessary. If a session is rescheduled, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can. If we cancel or discontinue the Course, or it does not start, you will receive a full refund as described in the Refund Policy.
8. Attendance and conduct
You are expected to attend the live sessions on your chosen schedule and to complete the preparation work between sessions. While taking part in the Course, you agree to:
- treat instructors, staff and other students with respect;
- not harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
- not share your Course login or let anyone else use your access;
- do your own work on quizzes, practice tests and exercises;
- not record sessions yourself, or share Course materials or recordings outside the Course (see sections 9 and 10); and
- not share real CompTIA exam questions or use or distribute “brain dump” material, which violates CompTIA’s exam policies.
We may withdraw a student for serious or repeated violations, as described in the Refund Policy.
9. Session recordings
Live sessions are recorded, and recordings are provided to enrolled students for their own study. Your name, voice, video and chat messages may appear in a recording if you share them during a session. By joining a live session, you consent to it being recorded. You may not download, copy or share session recordings except as we allow.
10. Course materials and intellectual property
The Site and all Course materials, including lecture videos, slides, study guides, quizzes, exercises and recordings, are owned by or licensed to F3USA and are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable and revocable license to access and use Course materials for your own study. Course content in the portal is provided for viewing there and is not downloadable. You may not copy, sell, publish, share or create works based on Course materials.
11. The CompTIA Security+ exam
The CompTIA Security+ exam is offered by CompTIA and its testing partners, not by F3USA, and is scheduled separately from the Course. Your exam vouchers are subject to CompTIA’s policies, including any expiration date. You are responsible for scheduling your exam and meeting CompTIA’s testing requirements. Certification is awarded only by CompTIA.
CompTIA and Security+ are trademarks of their respective owner. F3 Vets is an independent education provider. This program is not sponsored by, endorsed by or affiliated with CompTIA unless expressly stated in writing.
12. No guarantee of outcomes
The Course is designed to prepare you for the CompTIA Security+ exam. Course participation does not guarantee certification, exam passage, employment, promotion, or a particular salary outcome.
13. Technology
You are responsible for the device, internet connection and any other equipment you need to join live virtual sessions and use the course portal.
14. Acceptable use of the Site
You agree not to misuse the Site. That includes trying to gain unauthorized access to it, interfering with how it works, submitting false or automated applications, collecting data from it by automated means, or uploading malicious code.
15. Third-party websites and services
The Site and the Course may link to or use third-party websites and services, such as CompTIA, video-conferencing tools and payment processors. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and their own terms apply when you use them.
16. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information, including the information you submit in your application.
17. Disclaimers
Except as stated in these Terms and the Refund Policy, the Site and the Course are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Site or the course platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, F3USA and its directors, officers, employees, instructors and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost opportunities, arising from the Site or the Course. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site or the Course is limited to the amount you paid us for the Course. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Refund Policy or any right that cannot be limited under applicable law.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless F3USA from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site or Course materials.
20. Electronic communications
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, including by email, about your application and enrollment, and that electronic notices, agreements and records satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
21. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a concern, please contact us first, and we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, and you and F3USA consent to their jurisdiction.
22. California users and residents
Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, California users are entitled to the following notice. If a complaint is not satisfactorily resolved with us, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
23. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when they last changed. Changes apply from the date they are posted and do not reduce the refund rights of students who are already enrolled.
24. General
These Terms, together with the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and F3USA about the Site and the Course. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms.
