Refund Policy
This policy explains how to cancel or withdraw from the F3 Vets CompTIA Security+ preparation course (the “Course”) and how refunds are calculated. F3 Vets is a program of Freedom Fighters Fund, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation doing business as F3USA (“F3USA,” “we” or “us”).
At a glance
- Cancel through the first class session, or by the seventh business day after you enroll, whichever is later: 100% refund.
- Withdraw later, after attending 60% or less of the scheduled hours: prorated refund.
- Withdraw after attending more than 60%: no refund is due.
- If we cancel the Course: 100% refund.
- Refunds are paid within 45 calendar days.
1. Tuition and what this policy covers
Tuition for the Course is $2,500. It includes the CompTIA Security+ exam voucher and a retake voucher. There is no application fee, registration fee or deposit, and no other charge. Everything you pay us for the Course, including the value of the vouchers, is covered by this policy.
No payment is collected through the F3 Vets website. Payment is requested only after your eligibility is confirmed. F3 Vets does not participate in federal or state student financial aid programs.
2. When you are enrolled
For this policy, you enroll on the date you pay tuition.
3. Your right to cancel for a full refund
You have the right to cancel your enrollment and receive a refund of 100% of what you paid, with nothing withheld, if you cancel through attendance at the first class session, or by the seventh business day after you enroll, whichever is later.
For example, if you enroll on Monday, October 19, 2026, your seventh business day is Wednesday, October 28. Your first class session is on Sunday, November 1, or Monday, November 2 on the Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule. That is later, so you can cancel for a full refund through your first session.
A cancellation must be made in writing, as described in section 5.
4. Withdrawing after the cancellation period
After the cancellation period ends, you may still withdraw at any time. If you have attended 60% or less of the scheduled hours of instruction, counted as described below, you will receive a prorated refund. If you have attended more than 60%, no refund is due.
The prorated refund is calculated as follows:
- The Course has 18 scheduled hours of live instruction: nine sessions of two hours each.
- The hourly charge is $2,500 divided by 18 hours, about $138.89. Refunds are calculated with the exact, unrounded figure, as shown in the table below.
- The amount owed is the hourly charge multiplied by the hours of instruction you attended before you withdrew. Scheduled sessions you missed before your last day of attendance count as attended; sessions after your last day of attendance do not.
- Your refund is the amount you paid minus the amount owed.

If you are still within the cancellation period described in section 3, the full refund applies instead.
5. How to cancel or withdraw
Send written notice that includes your name and says you are cancelling or withdrawing from F3 Vets:
- by email to contact@f3usa.org, with the subject line “F3 Vets cancellation”; or
- by mail to F3USA, Attn: F3 Vets, 1550 The Alameda, Suite 150, San Jose, CA 95126.
The F3 Vets team receives these notices. Your notice takes effect on the date you send it: the date of your email, or the postmark date of your letter.
6. Withdrawal by F3USA
If you miss three consecutive scheduled sessions, you will be treated as withdrawn as of your last day of attendance, and we will confirm this to you in writing.
We may also withdraw you by written notice if you seriously or repeatedly break the conduct rules in our Terms and Conditions. A withdrawal for conduct takes effect on the date of our notice.
Any refund is calculated as described in section 4.
7. If we cancel the Course
If F3USA cancels or discontinues the Course before it is completed, or the Course does not start, you will receive a refund of 100% of what you paid.
8. When and how refunds are paid
We pay refunds within 45 calendar days of the date your cancellation or withdrawal takes effect, or of the date we cancel the Course. Refunds are returned to the original payment method. With each refund we send you a written statement showing the amount refunded, how it was calculated, the date it was paid, and the name and address of the person or organization that received it. If any part of a refund is paid to someone other than you, we will also send you an itemized written notice of each such payment.
9. Loans
If you take out a loan to pay for the Course, you are responsible for repaying the full amount of the loan plus any interest, less the amount of any refund.
